At the University of Central Missouri, we recognize that learning takes place both
inside and outside the classroom — on courts and in coaches’ offices. A key priority
in elevating our UCM Jennies Volleyball program is renovations to their facilities
in the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
We have identified a space that is ready to be repositioned as a retreat for our Jennies.
This untapped potential presents an opportunity for UCM to enhance the student-athlete
experience by creating a dedicated locker room and coaches' office suite. This new
space will allow our student-athletes to prepare, focus, and unwind in an environment
tailored to their needs—a space that embodies the spirit of UCM Volleyball.
A well-designed locker room with adjacent coaches’ offices will serve as a strategic
area for pregame discussions and postgame debriefs, promoting effective communication
among student-athletes and coaches. These improvements will not only enhance the daily
experience of our current student-athletes but also play a pivotal role in recruitment
efforts and attracting top talent.
