College of Education Centennial Celebration

The College of Education's history dates back 100 years to the naming of the university as Central Missouri State Teachers College in 1919. With this coming academic year marking the centennial of teacher education at Central Missouri, the college invites you to be part of the "My Central, My Legacy" celebration!

Join UCM leadership and the larger community October 25–26, 2019, for the 100th anniversary weekend!

Events include a Legacy Alumni Dinner and recognition of eductors at Saturday's Mules Football game. The community is also invited to a ribbon cutting of the new Legacy Suite in the college's Lovinger Building. This space recognizes and honors those who came before us by commemorating their work as education leaders across the state and looks toward the future of continuing to build a legacy together.

My legacy

The University of Central Missouri’s College of Education is celebrating its centennial during the 2019–2020 academic year. The college’s 100-year history is grounded in the preparation of teachers and administrators for early childhood, elementary, middle school and secondary classrooms throughout the state of Missouri and beyond.

“The foundation of this university sits on the shoulders of teachers and teacher education leaders across the state, and we have remained a leader in teacher preparation in the state of Missouri for 100 years.”
