Students who have served in the military often have a difficult time transitioning back to civilian life. Starting or returning to college can be challenging. At UCM, the Military and Veterans Success Center helps veterans acclimate to the university environment. For some, a service learning trip to improve the longest hiking-only trail in the world made all the difference in renewing their sense of mission and connecting them with their nonmilitary peers.
