UCM Homecoming
Postponed for 2020

We Are UCM!
We've all been through a lot in 2020, and together we've come out stronger for it! In the last quarter of the academic year, the university transitioned to an online learning environment, and generous alumni banded together to raise money for students who lost their jobs or were struggling financially.
In the larger MuleNation community, UCM alumni battled the pandemic in diverse ways — as medical professionals in hospitals across the country, by employing their talents to sew masks or cook meals, and through generous donations of protective gear and resources from the business sector. As many small businesses were forced to close their doors, our 100,000-strong network of alumni offered support. Members of MuleNation also helped one another stay active and motivated with an online campaign called MuleNation Motivation.
Although we can't come together in person this year, we invite you to view our video and reflect on our 2020 Homecoming theme: "We Are UCM." We remain forever stronger together!

The Tradition
Homecoming is our largest alumni tradition of the year! Whether you knew it as Central Missouri State College, Central Missouri State University or University of Central Missouri, the Warrensburg campus is a place you can always call home.
Every year during Homecoming we recognize a few Distinguished Alumni at an awards dinner in the Elliott Student Union. Our 2020 honorees will be honored at Homecoming 2021. Find out who these Distinguished Alumni are at ucmfoundation.org/awards.
As the date approaches, check back at ucmo.edu/homecoming for a full schedule of Homecoming events.

Homecoming History

Central Missouri’s first Homecoming was a silver jubilee held Nov. 5, 1935, in honor of Eldo Hendricks. It featured a convocation during which 21 alumni reminisced about Hendricks’ 25 years of service, plus a halftime presentation where the president and his wife received 25 silver dollars. Hendricks, known as a “dreamer of dreams,” voiced his earnest hope that Homecoming would become an annual celebration rather than an occasional jubilee.
The Homecoming parade is truly one of the most popular traditions. It’s always a colorful feast for the eyes, bringing the campus and local communities together to enjoy the Marching Mules, floats, equestrian units, dignitaries, area organizations, businesses, regional high school bands and UCM's very own mule mascot.
